Earlier in my post “I need an introduction“, I mentioned I was working on a social network with two friends. That social network is 7kins.com. I am working with my best friend Aldo Medina and my newly discovered friend Muhammad Saqib Chaudhary. I met Aldo back in high school around 2007 and Muhammad I met online in 2011.
My role in 7kins is lead developer, I write all the code. Is it fun? Hmm, that’s an interesting question, not sure how to answer that. I guess it’s “fun”, but at times it’s also incredibly frustrating.
So anyway, what kind of social network is 7kins? Well first let me start with how the idea came to be. I met Muhammad in May of 2011, I added him as a Friend. I at first simply wanted to learn about his culture:
Me: Hi thanks for adding me, I just want to ask you a few questions about your culture. I am interested.
Muhammad: Oh no, here we go
Me: What’s your favorite color?
Muhammad: Why do you people hate us so much?
…
With all the tension surrounding the relationship between the US and Pakistan you’d assume it took us a while to break the ice. We spoke for about 2-3 weeks. We discussed food, clothing, music, religion, politics, marriage, language, etc. When we found common ground (which took about a week or so), we stopped and wondered, “Wow, you’re not a bad guy, you’re kinda cool. Why can’t other people do this?”
And that is where Muhammad suggested the idea of a new social network. One that can offer everything Facebook & Google+ did, plus the ability to learn about foreign culture.
What makes 7kins different from other social networks is we offer a method to learn and to connect to others from around the world. Facebook and other social networks don’t really do this effectively (though I think this is Facebook’s motto). The world needs this we think. People rely too much on what they see in the media to draw conclusions on foreign cultures. Plus our privacy features are superior to everyone else’s. We are like a walled garden. We don’t allow our members to create hate/defamation pages, something Facebook is ok with. At the moment we are still in our developmental stage, features are being added every day. Currently it’s open and ready to start accepting members. We are eager to see how people react to it.

/ April 11, 2012Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization.
Daniel
/ April 16, 2012You don’t seem to understand how real SEO works. Styling of content does not affect search engine crawl, in fact too much styling can affect it negatively. H Tags also do not matter as much. This is the 2010s, search engines crawl content based on it’s quality not style nor coding. Get with the times.
